Some criminals go for the big score. Some commit crimes again and again, in a never-ending quest to fund their lifestyle. Some steal from friends and family, making off with a little bit here and there to feed their addiction. There’s never any shortage of different kinds of thieves in the world. But there's at least one thing that all thieves have in common: everyone needs to be able to communicate with the public in order to stay one step ahead of capture, so they all need subtitles too. And we’ve got them. Here we present to you the very best the thieves of the world have to offer – and just as importantly, their subtitled interviews that reveal what makes them tick. We hope you enjoy… and stay aware! The last section features a news report on one of the main characters from episode 1 of The Thieves, although his name sounds different in Korean than it does in English. Also, his name doesn't appear to be specified in any other materials. This is likely due to cultural reasons where only proper names are important. That combined with not wanting to give away too much about his character could explain why. There are subtitles here for the news reporter, but not for the interviewee. It may be that the majority of viewers would understand his answers without subtitles, but for those who don’t, they’ve translated his answers to this question: "What do you think about the show?" His answer is pretty much verbatim to what he says in episode 1 so it may be implied that he is Kim Shin (the lead). However, since there's no confirmation of who he is at this stage, we'll just leave him as Unknown. -The following subtitles are for the news reporter, but none of the other interviews receive subtitles. - The last two episodes do not have any subtitles. Originally, Chal was referred to as "Chal Ja", literally meaning "Salute". However, this was changed to "Chal Ja" because it sounded like it could be a shortened version of "Chal Jang", literally meaning "Thief's Alley". It also didn't fit in with the way other names were made up. The original reason for choosing the name is because he lives in a poor area called "Thieves' Alley" where many thieves operate after dark.
